{"id":143735,"date":"2020-05-02T10:40:41","date_gmt":"2020-05-02T10:40:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/englands-poorest-areas-see-double-covid-19-mortality-rates-2\/"},"modified":"2020-05-02T10:40:41","modified_gmt":"2020-05-02T10:40:41","slug":"englands-poorest-areas-see-double-covid-19-mortality-rates-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/en\/englands-poorest-areas-see-double-covid-19-mortality-rates-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Englands poorest areas see double COVID-19 mortality rates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LONDON \u2014 People living in the poorest parts of England have experienced COVID-19 mortality rates of more than double those of wealthier areas, according to the U.K.s Office for National Statistics.<\/p>\n<p>In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ons.gov.uk\/peoplepopulationandcommunity\/birthsdeathsandmarriages\/deaths\/bulletins\/deathsinvolvingcovid19bylocalareasanddeprivation\/deathsoccurringbetween1marchand17april\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">analysis released Friday<\/a>, the ONS said the COVID-19 mortality rate in the most deprived parts of England was 55.1 deaths per 100,000 population, compared to 25.3 deaths per 100,000 in the most affluent areas.
