The extra voting should take place if no candidate wins a majority of delegates, Biden argued during a CNN town hall on Thursday night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSay you got to get over 1,900 delegates, thats the deal,\u201d Biden said, referring to the number a candidate can reach to get the partys nomination without resorting to a brokered convention.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo lets say someone comes with the most delegates and it gets split up and they got a thousand delegates and the rest are split. Does that mean you should go ahead and change the rules? I dont think so. I guess Im a Catholic school kid. You play by the rules,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Biden said the superdelegates\u2014automatic delegates who dont vote in the first round but are added into the pool if a contested convention is triggered\u2014should get a chance to participate in the process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is an awful lot of Democrats who show up at that convention who worked really hard to be involved in the party and giving everybody a chance,\u201d Biden said.<\/p>\n<figure><a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2020\/02\/20\/debate-in-vegas-1200x800.jpg\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/themes\/eet\/images\/white.png\" alt=\"Epoch Times Photo\"\/><figcaption><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2020\/02\/20\/debate-in-vegas-1200x800.jpg\" alt=\"Epoch Times Photo\"\/><\/figcaption><\/a> Democratic presidential candidates (L-R) former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) expressed support for a candidate earning a plurality of delegates winning the nomination without additional voting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe process includes 500 superdelegates on the second ballot.
