Based on the information we have learned to date, we believe the work environment did not meet the ideals and expectations of the Milwaukee 2020 Host Committee Board of Directors,\u201d the Milwaukee 2020 Host Committee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.milwaukee2020.com\/copy-of-hc-nm-press-release\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">said in a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Liz Gilbert, who served as the president of the host committee, and Adam Alonso, the groups chief of staff, were ousted after staffers raised concerns several days ago, according to the statement.<\/p>\n<p>It stated that their work cant be done \u201cunless members of the staff can work collaboratively,\u201d adding that the committee \u201cis committed to an inclusive and supportive environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The exact nature of the allegations hasnt been made public.<\/p>\n<p>Peg Schaffer, an attorney for Gilbert, told the Journal-Sentinel that it was \u201cdisgruntled staff who, when confronted with a strong woman leader, is using the euphemism of a toxic workplace to complain about their boss.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Its another unfavorable development for the Democratic Party just days after the Democrats Iowa Caucuses drew criticism for delayed results and technical problems. Democratic caucus officials werent able to release the results until about a day later, on Feb. 4.<\/p>\n<p>The Democratic National Convention, where delegates of the Democratic Party will choose the partys nominees for president and vice president, will be held July 13\u201316 at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.<\/p>\n<p>Teresa Vilmain, who was described by the group as an experienced convention staffer, will now manage the organizations day-to-day operations for the time being.<\/p>\n<p>Joe Solmonese, the chief executive of the Democratic National Convention Committee, said that hes aware of the allegations of a toxic work culture under Gilbert and Alonso.
