Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said hed consider releasing a list of judges from which hed choose a Supreme Court nominee.<\/p>\n<p>Sanders, 78, is a top Democratic presidential contender. No 2020 Democrats have released Supreme Court lists.<\/p>\n<p>Sanders told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/01\/13\/us\/politics\/bernie-sanders-supreme-court-judges.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The New York Times<\/a> that it would be too early to release a list yet, saying he would have to win the Democratic nomination first.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIts not a bad idea,\u201d Sanders added. \u201cIts a reasonable idea. My wife agrees with you. Yeah. Ill take that into consideration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Judicial nominations play a prominent role in convincing some voters to vote for certain nominees. Of the roughly 21 percent of voters who indicated in exit polls from the 2016 election that such nominations were the primary factor in influencing their presidential vote, 56 percent voted for President Donald Trump while 41 percent went for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.<\/p>\n<p>Dozens of Trumps nominees sit on federal benches nationwide as he and Senate Republicans confirm them at a rapid pace, regularly celebrating the number of confirmations. Justice Stephen Breyer, who was also nominated by President Bill Clinton, is the second oldest at 81. Whoever wins in 2020 is expected to get at least one Supreme Court nomination.<\/p>\n<p>Most Democratic presidential contenders havent spoken much about possibly releasing lists ahead of the election. Sen.
