Republicans have disavowed a GOP candidate running for Congress in Florida.<\/p>\n

George Buck said in a fundraising email that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) should be hanged because she committed treason, citing claims<\/a> that shes a secret foreign agent working on behalf of Qatar.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe should hang these traitors where they stand,\u201d the email from Bucks campaign stated, the Tampa Bay Times<\/a> reported. Buck, who lost in a bid for Congress in 2018, is attempting to win the same seat again in 2020, for Floridas 13th Congressional District. The district is currently represented by Rep. Charlie Crist (D-Fla.).<\/p>\n

Buck initially denied sending the statement but said in a second statement: \u201cAnyone who commits treason against the United States should be tried to the full extent of the law.\u201d<\/p>\n

Based on the email, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) decided to remove Buck from the National Republican Congressional Committees \u201cYoung Guns\u201d program. The program helps Republican candidates running in certain districts.<\/p>\n

\u201cLeader McCarthy made the decision to remove him and Chairman [Rep. Tom] Emmer agrees,\u201d Michael McAdams, a spokesman for the committee, told the Daily Caller News Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) said in a statement that \u201ctheres no place for inciting violence in politics.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cInstead of doubling down on these disgraceful comments, the candidate ought to apologize unequivocally and denounce these unacceptable statements,\u201d Scalise said.<\/p>\n

Pinellas County GOP chairman Todd Jennings also denounced Buck, writing in a statement: \u201cThere is no room for this kind of inflammatory rhetoric in either political party. No one should ever condone a candidates call for violence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bucks campaign website describes him as a \u201cconservative\u201d and \u201cAmerica-first Republican.\u201d Issues listed include \u201cprotect the unborn,\u201d \u201cdefend the 2nd Amendment,\u201d \u201cstop illegal immigration,\u201d and \u201csupport President Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n
