President Donald Trump told reporters on Friday morning<\/a> that he isnt concerned with the bevy of House Democrat-released transcripts and the forthcoming Houses public hearings on the impeachment inquiry.<\/p>\n

\u201cIm not concerned about anything. The testimony has all been fine. I mean, for the most part, I never even heard of these people. I have no idea who they are,\u201d he said to reporters<\/a>. \u201cIts Lets find the 10 people that hate President Trump the most and lets put them up there,'\u201d Trump added.<\/p>\n

Trump was referring to the State Department officials who testified in closed-door hearings.<\/p>\n

In reference to the transcripts, the president told reporters before he left for Georgia: \u201cNo one seems to have any first-hand knowledge,\u201d adding that \u201cevery one of those people canceled themselves out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are some very fine people. You have some Never Trumpers,\u201d he also told the press<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the same press conference, Trump said he is considering releasing a transcript of an April 2019 phone call between him and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He said he doesnt mind that people read it because he wants to be transparent.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will give it if they want it, Ill give it to them,\u201d Trump told reporters before adding, \u201cI dont like doing it because its such a bad precedent.\u201d<\/p>\n

The phone call came about three months before the July 25 call that triggered the impeachment inquiry into his efforts to allegedly push Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Bidens and son Hunter Bidens business dealings in the country.<\/p>\n

Overall, the impeachment inquiry is \u201ca hoax,\u201d he said. \u201cThey shouldnt be having public hearings,\u201d Trump also remarked, referring to the impeachment inquiry moving to the public phase next week.<\/p>\n

His comments come as White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney defied a House subpoena to appear before three committees leading the inquiry. He was called to testify in a closed-door meeting but didnt show up at 9 a.m., according to news reports.<\/p>\n
