{"id":137097,"date":"2019-11-07T19:10:20","date_gmt":"2019-11-07T19:10:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/nbc-falsely-claimed-that-a-republican-voted-for-the-impeachment-process-resolution\/"},"modified":"2019-11-07T19:10:20","modified_gmt":"2019-11-07T19:10:20","slug":"nbc-falsely-claimed-that-a-republican-voted-for-the-impeachment-process-resolution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/en\/nbc-falsely-claimed-that-a-republican-voted-for-the-impeachment-process-resolution\/","title":{"rendered":"NBC Falsely Claimed That a Republican Voted for the Impeachment Process Resolution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NBC falsely claimed that a single Republican voted in favor of the impeachment process resolution when zero Republicans voted for the resolution and two Democrats voted against it.<\/p>\n<p>During \u201cMeet the Press\u201d on Nov. 3, host Chuck Todd <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2019\/11\/05\/real-talk-impeachment-is-going-poorly-for-democrats-and-the-media\/#.XcHft_PLNKg.twitter\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">aired a graphic<\/a> noting that 31 House Democrats voted in favor of impeachment proceedings against President Bill Clinton but also inaccurately said that a Republican voted in favor of the proceedings against President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>The vote to approve the resolution, which laid out guidelines for the next phase of the impeachment inquiry, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/house-democrats-authorize-impeachment-inquiry-on-party-line-vote_3133789.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was 232-196<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>No GOP members voted for the resolution. And two Democrats\u2014Reps. Jeff Van Drew (D-N.J.) and Collin Peterson (D-Minn.)\u2014voted with Republicans against the legislation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWithout bipartisan support, I believe this inquiry will further divide the country, tearing it apart at the seams and will ultimately fail in the Senate,\u201d Van Drew said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis impeachment process continues to be hopelessly partisan,\u201d Peterson said in a statement. \u201cI have some serious concerns with the way the closed-door depositions were run, and am skeptical that we will have a process that is open, transparent, and fair.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Todd on NBC claimed that Rep. I dont know what you do with Justin Amash. Its not a zero. At the same time, hes not a Republican anymore,\u201d Todd, the host, said on air.<\/p>\n<p>Appearing with Todd, CNBC reporter John Harwood said later in the segment, \u201cThe Republican number was zero.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Several congressmen are independents, including Sen.
