Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said he wont release a plan showing how hed pay for Medicare for All, claiming, \u201cI dont think I have to do that right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sanders and fellow 2020 contender Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/biden-clashes-with-warren-and-sanders-over-medicare-for-all-how-we-gonna-pay-for-it_3080162.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">jockeyed with rivals<\/a> who say Sanderss plan for a government takeover of the health sector\u2014which Warren supports\u2014is impossible because of the high costs it would bring.<\/p>\n<p>Warren has repeatedly refused to say whether the plan would cause taxes for the middle class to rise; Sanders has said it would, but has never provided a plan showing how Medicare for All would be funded.<\/p>\n<p>Medicare for All <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/medicare-for-all-projected-to-cost-32-6-trillion-study-finds_2608634.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">is projected to cost $32.6 trillion over 10 years<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sanders was asked how hed fund the plan during an interview published on Oct. 29.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWere trying to pay for the damn thing. At a time of massive income and wealth inequality, it is my view that the wealthiest people in this country, the top 1\/10th of 1 percent should be paying substantially more than theyre paying right now. You have an insane situation. Let my Wall Street friends there tell me why it makes sense,\u201d Sanders <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2019\/10\/28\/bernie-sanders-lets-not-make-people-overly-nervous-about-socialism.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">told CNBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sanders suggested a wealth tax could contribute substantially to funding Medicare for All but was pressed for more specifics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fight right now is to get the American people to understand that were spending twice as much per capita, that of course we can pay for it. Were paying it now in a very reactionary, regressive way.
