Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has new criticism for the House impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, accusing the Democrats of running a \u201ckangaroo court.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Democratic leadership is \u201cconducting a kangaroo court over in the House, denying the president his due process rights that every American is entitled to,\u201d McConnell stated in the Facebook ad. \u201cIf I have your support, I hope youll donate now,\u201d he added, reported The Hill.<\/a><\/p>\n

The ads began running on Oct. 24, according to Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a caption for one ad, he wrote that \u201cwe cannot sit back and let the House Dems deny President Trump basic fairness and due process. Help me fight this kangaroo court!\u201d<\/p>\n

McConnell hasnt made many public statements about the impeachment inquiry.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have not had any conversations on this subject,\u201d McConnell recently said of Trumps July 25 phone call with the president of Ukraine, which is a central focus of the inquiry.<\/p>\n

And a week before that, Senate Republicans said that the majority leader<\/a> is seeking a quick impeachment trial should it clear the House.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the hypotheticals is we get these before Thanksgiving break,\u201d said Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.). He added, \u201cTheres great motivation to get this done by Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a news conference after the meeting, McConnell said that<\/a> \u201csenators will not be allowed to speak, which will be good therapy for a number of them. We intend to do our constitutional responsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n

McConnell was one of 50 Senators who co-signed to Sen. Lindsey Grahams (R-S.C.) resolution to condemn House Democrats impeachment inquiry.<\/p>\n

In announcing the measure<\/a> on Thursday, Graham said the House is \u201cout of bounds\u201d and is \u201cinconsistent with the process as we know it,\u201d referring to impeaching a president.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhats going on is a run around of the impeachment process \u2026 that fundamentally\u201d ignores due process under the law, he said. \u201cIts a danger to the future of the presidency,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
