President Donald Trump, on Oct. 18, announced the replacement for Energy Secretary Rick Perry, whom Trump confirmed the day prior would be departing from the job.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to thank Secretary of Energy Rick Perry for the outstanding job he has done. He will be leaving at the end of the year to pursue other interests. Rick was a great Governor of Texas and a great Secretary of Energy. He is also my friend!\u201d Trump said in a statement on Twitter.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the same time, I am pleased to nominate Deputy Secretary Dan Brouillette to be the new Secretary of Energy. Dans experience in the sector is unparalleled. A total professional, I have no doubt that Dan will do a great job!\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the Department of Energy, Brouillette has three decades of experience in both the public and private sectors.<\/p>\n

Before joining USAA, Mr. Brouillette was a Vice President of Ford Motor Company, where he led the automakers domestic policy teams and served on its North American Operating Committee,\u201d it stated.<\/p>\n
