Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) said Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) should call the person who filed a complaint against President Donald Trump to testify.<\/p>\n<p>The so-called whistleblower passed on secondhand information and details from media reports in the complaint, which largely focused on Trumps July phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The call transcript was released by the White House shortly after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced an impeachment inquiry into Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Trump asked Zelensky to look into former Vice President Joe Bidens actions in the country, as well as Bidens son Hunter Biden, who sat on the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma for five years until earlier this year. The transcript doesnt show Trump pressuring Zelensky or offering anything in exchange.<\/p>\n<p>Schiff initially said the whistleblower would testify to Congress but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/schiff-on-whistleblower-contact-i-should-have-been-much-more-clear_3115166.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">backed away from that assertion<\/a> over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven that we already have the call record, we dont need the whistleblower, who wasnt on the call, to tell us what took place during the call,\u201d Schiff said. \u201cWe have the best evidence of that.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2019\/10\/16\/GettyImages-1177516041-1200x800.jpg\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/themes\/eet\/images\/white.png\" \/><figcaption><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2019\/10\/16\/GettyImages-1177516041-1200x800.jpg\" \/><\/figcaption><\/a> This photo illustration shows a copy of the transcript of the phone call between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. (Alex Wong\/Getty Images)<\/figure>\n<p>Meadows said late Oct. 15 that Schiff must call the whistleblower to testify, accusing the House Intelligence chairman of avoiding bringing people in for depositions who might present evidence he doesnt want to hear.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Rep.] Jim [Jordan] and I have been now in over 40 hours of deposition and what were finding is that Adam Schiff only wants to have witnesses who will give the response that he hopes they will give\u2014and even at that its a swing and a miss,\u201d Meadows said during an appearance on Fox Newss \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/mark-meadows-calls-for-adam-schiff-whistleblower-testify\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hannity<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reports emerged earlier this month <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/lawmakers-erupt-after-report-reveals-schiff-knew-of-whistleblower-complaint-before-filing-this-explains-a-lot_3104294.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">indicating Schiffs committee had contact with the person<\/a> who filed the complaint before the complaint was filed, leading to Schiff twice <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/schiff-says-he-regrets-saying-we-have-not-spoken-directly-with-the-whistleblower_3105118.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">expressing regret<\/a> for saying in mid-September, \u201cWe have not spoken directly with the whistleblower.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2019\/10\/16\/meadows-and-schiff-1200x761.jpg\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/themes\/eet\/images\/white.png\" \/><figcaption><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2019\/10\/16\/meadows-and-schiff-1200x761.jpg\" \/><\/figcaption><\/a> Reps.
