Full steam ahead,\u201d McConnell said on the Senate floor on Oct. 15.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany of us remember the Washington Post headline that was literally published on inauguration day back in 2017. Heres what it said: The campaign to impeach President Trump has begun. And sure enough, House Democrats have been at it ever since,\u201d McConnell said.<\/p>\n<p>He accused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) \u201cfinally crumbled and allowed her left-wing impeachment caucus to dictate the Houses actions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI dont think many of us were expecting to witness a clinic in terms of fairness or due process. But even by their own partisan standards, House Democrats have already found new ways to lower the bar,\u201d McConnell said.<\/p>\n<p>The impeachment process is \u201cabout the most consequential process\u201d it can engage in, McConnell said, making it imperative to be conducted \u201cwith the utmost fairness and transparency.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd yet, House Democrats wasted no time in throwing fairness and precedence to the wind,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlready, theyve denied their Republican counterparts certain minority rights, like equal subpoena power that Republicans provided Democrats during the [Bill] Clinton impeachment. Already, theyve made clear that President Trumps counsel will not be allowed to participate in hearings, present evidence, and cross-examine witnesses. All important rights that Republicans provided to President Clinton. Already, one House chairman has been caught mischaracterizing his committees handling of the whistleblower inquiry on which this whole investigation hinges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/schiff-says-he-regrets-saying-we-have-not-spoken-directly-with-the-whistleblower_3105118.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">said he regretted<\/a> saying in mid-September: \u201cWe have not spoken directly with the whistleblower.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2019\/10\/11\/adam-schiff-nancy-pelosi-1200x800.jpg\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/themes\/eet\/images\/white.png\" alt=\"Nancy Pelosi and Rep.
