Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) during the Oct. 15 presidential debate.<\/p>\n<p>Warren has refused to say that taxes would go up for the middle class under Medicare for All. She has endorsed a bill written by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who has said multiple times his plan would require higher taxes.<\/p>\n<p>Asked by a moderator on Tuesday, Warren declined to say taxes would go up; she reiterated that overall costs would go down.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will not sign a bill into law that does not lower costs for middle-class families,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg hit back when asked about his prior criticism of Warren as \u201cevasive\u201d: \u201cWell, we heard it tonight. A yes or no question that didnt get a yes or no answer. This is why people here in the Midwest are so frustrated with Washington in general and Capitol Hill in particular,\u201d he said. \u201cYour signature, senator, is to have a plan for everything, except this.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2019\/10\/16\/elizabeth-warren-and-pete-buttigieg-1200x800.jpg\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/themes\/eet\/images\/white.png\" alt=\"elizabeth warren on healthcare\" \/><figcaption><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2019\/10\/16\/elizabeth-warren-and-pete-buttigieg-1200x800.jpg\" alt=\"elizabeth warren on healthcare\" \/><\/figcaption><\/a> Sen. Warren is putting forward is supposed to get filled in,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Buttigieg plugged his plan, which he calls Medicare for All who want it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe take a version of Medicare, we let you access it if you want to, and if you prefer to stay on your private plan, you can do that too,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhenever someone hears the term Medicare for All who want it. Understand what that really means: Medicare for All who can afford it,\u201d Warren rejoined.<\/p>\n<p>Buttigieg said that wasnt true.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI dont think the American people are wrong when they say what they want is a choice. \u2026 Its affordable for everyone because we make sure the subsidies are in place.
