A man who was wearing a red \u201cMAGA\u201d hat has been commended for his reaction after being spat in the face during an interview before a campaign rally for President Donald Trump on Oct. 10.<\/p>\n

Minnesota salesman Dave Carlson was giving an interview to Vice News<\/a> outside the Minneapolis rally when an off-camera protester, who was walking by, spat on his face.<\/p>\n

Reporter Elizabeth Landers appeared visibly shocked and apologized for the incident, while Carlson responded by saying, \u201cOh nice,\u201d before chuckling and wiping off the saliva.<\/p>\n

Landers then asked the salesman whether he was okay, to which he responded, \u201cIm fine.\u201d<\/p>\n

The incident prompted several bystanders to step in to comment on the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cSir, Im sorry that happened to you,\u201d one man said.<\/p>\n

Another man walked up to Carlson, calling the attack \u201cdisrespectful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Landers then told Carlson that she thinks he has \u201ca better attitude about that then I would.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a later post on Twitter, Landers said during her time interviewing supporters of the president, she had never seen such an incident before.<\/p>\n

\u201cI interview a lot of the presidents supporters at rallies and have never seen this before. (My reaction gives that away quickly),\u201d she wrote.<\/a><\/p>\n

Many social media users also weighed in on the incident, condemning the appalling behavior.<\/p>\n

\u201cI dont like Trump or his supporters but that was uncalled for,\u201d one person said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat man has some class. Very impressive. Dont agree with him on many thing (I imagine), but I certainly would be happy to have a beer with him,\u201d another said, praising Carlson for keeping his cool.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is purely despicable. Kudos to this man for handling such a vile situation with grace and peace,\u201d another person said.<\/p>\n

\u201cCompletely unacceptable and that person should be ashamed for acting that way. You can hate the president without physically attacking anyone,\u201d said another.<\/p>\n

Protesters Burn American Flag, MAGA Hats<\/h2>\n

During the same event, hundreds of people protested into the night<\/a> outside Trumps rally to a bonfire of MAGA memorabilia and chants of \u201cNazi scum!\u201d<\/p>\n

Compiled footage from outside Target Center, the rally venue, shows police looking on as protesters<\/a> chant, \u201cHey, hey! Ho, ho! Donald Trump has got to go!\u201d and people stand around a fire consuming a stack of items including a red \u201cMake America Great Again\u201d hat and an American flag.<\/p>\n

\u201cShine, let it shine, let it shine!\u201d they chant.<\/p>\n
