{"id":127884,"date":"2019-07-16T04:10:22","date_gmt":"2019-07-16T04:10:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/netanyahu-compares-eu-approach-to-iran-with-appeasement-of-nazi-germany-before-wwii\/"},"modified":"2019-07-16T04:10:22","modified_gmt":"2019-07-16T04:10:22","slug":"netanyahu-compares-eu-approach-to-iran-with-appeasement-of-nazi-germany-before-wwii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/en\/netanyahu-compares-eu-approach-to-iran-with-appeasement-of-nazi-germany-before-wwii\/","title":{"rendered":"Netanyahu compares EU approach to Iran with appeasement of Nazi Germany before WWII"},"content":{"rendered":"<pre><code>      Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has compared Europes attitude to Iran with the 1930s appeasement of Nazi Germany, after the EU foreign policy chief said Tehrans enrichment breach wouldnt trigger the Iran deals dispute mechanism.      \n<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>The EUs high representative Federica Mogherini <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/newsline\/464234-iran-eu-deal-mogherini\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> on Monday that the bloc did not regard Tehrans recent breaches of the 2015 nuclear deal as being<em> \u201csignificant\u201d<\/em> enough to set an official dispute in motion.<\/p>\n<p>Mogherini said that none of the remaining parties to the accord had signaled any intention to invoke the JCPOAs dispute article, which means that, so far, <em>\u201cnone of them\u201d<\/em> think that Irans non-compliance <em>\u201cis considered to be significant non-compliance.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Netanyahu lashed out at Europes response, saying in a video statement that it was even comparable to appeasement and failed diplomacy with Nazi Germany before the outbreak of World War II.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n<em><strong>\u201c(It) reminds me of the European appeasement of the 1930s\u2026It seems there are those in Europe who will not wake up until Iranian nuclear missiles land on European soil. But then it will be too late, of course.\u201d <\/strong><\/em>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>People during that time<em> \u201cstuck their head in the sand\u201d<\/em> and<em> \u201cdid not see the approaching danger,\u201d<\/em> Netanyahu warned. Mogherini said, however, that all recent steps taken by Iran are <em>\u201creversible\u201d<\/em> and that the EU hopes the country will <em>\u201cgo back to full compliance with the agreement.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Israel has been pushing for a harder line against Tehran from the EU, to match the response of the US. The Trump administration abandoned the deal last year, claiming among other things that it was among the worst deals he&#039;d ever seen.
