{"id":127694,"date":"2019-07-15T08:40:11","date_gmt":"2019-07-15T08:40:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/eus-satellite-navigation-system-fully-offline\/"},"modified":"2019-07-15T08:40:11","modified_gmt":"2019-07-15T08:40:11","slug":"eus-satellite-navigation-system-fully-offline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bnreport.com\/en\/eus-satellite-navigation-system-fully-offline\/","title":{"rendered":"EUs satellite navigation system fully offline"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The EUs satellite navigation system, developed as an alternative to the United States GPS, is fully offline due to \u201ca technical incident related to its ground infrastructure,\u201d the blocs space agency <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsc-europa.eu\/news\/update-on-the-availability-of-some-galileo-initial-services\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe incident has led to a temporary interruption of the Galileo initial navigation and timing services,\u201d the Prague-based European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency said, adding that Galileos search and rescue system used to locate distress signals at sea or in mountainous regions was still operational.<\/p>\n<p>Galileo is the worlds fourth geo-location satellite system, after ones created by the U.S, Russia and China, and has been pitched by the EU as a more accurate alternative to GPS.
