The motion also urges Dublin to \u201cimmediately begin building a coalition across the EU to ensure that this deal is rejected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>EU negotiators <a href=\"http:\/\/trade.ec.europa.eu\/doclib\/press\/index.cfm?id=2039&amp;title=EU-and-Mercosur-reach-agreement-on-trade\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reached a political agreement<\/a> with leaders from the Mercosur bloc of Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay last month, bringing 20 years of stop-start trade talks to a close. But the agreement has faced a backlash from Irish farmers who fear competition from cheaply produced South American goods, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agriland.ie\/farming-news\/watch-farm-bodies-unite-for-beef-plan-protest-in-dublin\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">thousands protesting outside the parliament<\/a> earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>The deal still wont be ratified for likely another one to two years.
