Paris hospitals on Wednesday acknowledged information about Yellow Jacket protesters was inappropriately shared in a government database, while denying law enforcement officials had access to the information.<\/p>\n

The Public Assistance Hospitals of Paris (AP-HP) and the Regional Health Agency Ile-de-France (ARS) said in a statement<\/a> they are conducting an investigation into how information on injured protesters may have been disclosed through electronic health records.<\/p>\n

The hospitals and regional health agency initially denied on Sunday<\/a> that information \u201con the nature of the wounds cared for\u201d was shared. However, an investigation<\/a> in Wednesdays edition of satirical newspaper Le Canard enchain\u00e9 showed such details were included in a health ministry database.<\/p>\n

French doctors group UFML demanded clarity over whether that information was also available to law enforcement officials in a statement Wednesday,<\/a> in response to Le Canard encha\u00een\u00e9 report.
<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIf it appears that state services knowingly flouted patient confidentiality, the medical profession will have to accept the consequences and demand the resignation of the highest officials in this political and health scandal,\u201d UFML said.<\/p>\n
