Axel Springer is a co-owner of POLITICOs European edition.<\/p>\n<p>Facebooks potential new foray into news marks a significant change of strategy after the company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialmediatoday.com\/news\/facebook-rolls-out-news-feed-algorithm-update-to-disincentivize-controversi\/542409\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">altered its algorithms<\/a> last year to play down the prominence of news in peoples online feeds.
