The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityam.com\/ftse-100\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">FTSE 100<\/a> had fallen 0.5 per cent over the same period, shedding 36 points.<\/p>\n<p>On the continent, Pariss Euronext 100 dropped 0.4 per cent, while the Stoxx 600 \u2013 an index of 600 European companies \u2013 fell 0.5 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>Germanys Dax index had fallen 0.2 per cent by mid-afternoon, despite rising slightly following a positive business confidence survey earlier in the day.<\/p>\n<p>The stock market falls follow weeks of poor economic data from around the world, signs that the Chinese economy is suffering under the US-China trade war, and the US Federal Reserves decision to hold interest rates for the near future.<\/p>\n<p>These factors helped send the yield on 10-year US treasuries \u2013 government bonds \u2013 to a one-year low on Friday as investors looked to pull out of risky stock markets in search of safer assets.
