Turkey's unemployment rate

Ankara, (Business News Report)|| Turkey’s unemployment rate decreased to 12% during the past year 2021, to witness a decrease of 1.1 percentage points compared to the year 2020.

The Turkish Statistical Authority said that the number of unemployed people last year decreased by 121 thousand, to 3.919 million people.

The number of unemployed people during the year 2020, is 4.4 million people.

The data indicated that Turkey’s unemployment rate decreased in 2020 from 13.1 percent to 12 percent last year.

In January 2022, Turkey’s unemployment rate reached 11.4 percent, and the number of unemployed people reached 3.859 million people.

In a separate context, nearly a month after the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the UAE, which announced the end of the frozen period in relations between the two countries, the results of this rapprochement began to appear.

According to media sources, data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) showed that Turkish exports to the United Arab Emirates achieved a growth of 52.4 percent during last February, compared to the same month last year.

The value of Turkish exports to the UAE rose to $303.24 million during last February, to come to the 17th place among the list of countries that import the most from Turkey.

These distinguished numbers between the two countries come as a natural product of the mutual visits of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Zayed, to Ankara and the visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Abu Dhabi.

A few days ago, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu was a guest of his Emirati counterpart, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi.

The meeting came on the sidelines of the Turkish Minister’s visit to Abu Dhabi, to participate as a guest of honor in the 16th session of the Forum of Ambassadors and Representatives of Representative Missions of the UAE

Cavusoglu and his Emirati counterpart discussed bilateral relations and regional developments, foremost of which is the Ukraine crisis.

According to observers, this visit comes at the invitation of the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, within the framework of improving relations.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to the UAE was widely celebrated in the media, especially since it came after more than years of estrangement between the two countries.
