BNR – At last, Tesla introduced the first Cybertruck after a delay of more than two years. The EV firm tweeted a photo of employees in white construction hats posing around the new vehicle. The company said that the electric vehicle, Cybertruck, was manufactured in the company’s Gigafactory in Austin, Texas.
The firm announced the experimental version of the electric truck in 2019, stating that it would launch two years after (in 2021). The 2019 Cybertruck appeared like a big trapezoid attached to tires. The exterior body consists of a stainless-steel metal.
Tesla Cybertruck Failed Showcase
The company was subject to embarrassment during the announcement of the Cybertruck back in 2019. When one of the presenters threw a metal ball on the vehicle’s glass, which was advertised as armoured, it broke immediately on impact.
Tesla kept people in the dark regarding its strategy for the greatly awaited truck. In 2021, however, the company said that a new better version of the truck was under development. The renowned Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, stated that the firm could not launch most of the awaited vehicles due to problems with the supply chain.
At the beginning of this year, however, the company revealed that it will commence the manufacturing of the truck later in the year. Tesla has said before that mass-producing the Cybertruck may happen in 2024.
The new electric pickup enables Tesla to rivalling in the profitable electric truck market. This market includes Rivian’s R1T, the Ford F-150 Lightning and the GMC Hummer EV pickup.
