The UAE aspires to reach 100 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity, and then double it to 200 gigawatts, Minister of Industry, Sultan Al Jaber, said.

The minister did not specify a time frame for the goal.

“We’ve revised our ambitions with new partners joining,” he said. “We had planned to double our capacity. Now, we’re looking at overall 10-fold growth. The expectation is to reach 100 GW” by 2030.

“Masdar is among the largest renewable energy companies in the world now. It will be the biggest,” he said.

The Minister said his statements in his opening speech at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit, at Expo 2020 headquarters in Dubai.

According to the minister, who is also the CEO of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), the Abu Dhabi-based Masdar is investing in wind and solar energy projects in 40 countries around the world.

Thus, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority will be the first government service organization in the world to provide its services in the Arabic language through this innovative technology.

Customers can now view the monthly bill details in Arabic, previous bill history, electricity and water consumption details, and their carbon footprint.

In addition to linking their accounts with the Authority with their other accounts in Amazon.

Customers can also benefit from “Rammas”, the authority’s virtual employee based on artificial intelligence, via Alexa devices in Arabic, to get answers to their questions and inquiries.

In a related context, Expo 2020 Dubai achieved a remarkable achievement by recording 10 million visits, by reducing the value of a one-day ticket from 95 dirhams to 10 Emirati dirhams.

The 10 Emirati dirham ticket will be designated to enter the Dubai Expo site on Sunday, January 16, while ensuring the implementation of safety measures to fight Coronavirus, which remains extremely important in Expo 2020 Dubai.
