دبي – Chinese engineering firm Famson has signed a strategic partnership agreement with leading Egyptian group Cairo 3A. The collaboration aims to establish an integrated manufacturing facility for agricultural machinery and feed mill components within Egypt.

Strategic Partnership Details

The agreement targets enhanced cooperation across multiple sectors including modern agriculture, land reclamation, grain storage, deep processing, starch production, and animal farming. It also focuses on transferring advanced industrial technologies to the Egyptian market.

The signing ceremony took place in Cairo, attended by representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, parliament members, and senior executives from both companies. Key figures included Famson’s Middle East head Johnson and Cairo 3A CEO Hazem Zayed.

Local Manufacturing Focus

This move marks Famson’s transition from equipment supply to local industrial partnerships. The company plans to increase local content utilization, leveraging Egyptian engineering capabilities to support national import substitution goals and food security objectives under Vision 2030.

Famson intends to invest an additional one hundred million dollars to create a local production base. This brings total planned investments in Egypt to over one hundred seventy-five million dollars, establishing a hub for mechanical equipment and agricultural machinery manufacturing.

Infrastructure and Technology Transfer

Previous collaborations include a fifty-thousand-ton silo complex project developed with Egypt’s Future Investment Authority. The new partnership extends to feed mills with a capacity of fifty tons per hour, utilizing smart control systems for receiving, grinding, mixing, and cooling processes.

A dedicated research and development center will be established in Egypt. This facility aims to combine Chinese expertise with Egyptian talent to develop solutions for silos, dryers, and post-harvest technologies while training local engineers and technicians.

Regional Expansion Goals

Jones emphasized that Egypt serves as a critical strategic axis for Famson’s regional growth. The company seeks to build genuine industrial partnerships based on technology transfer and workforce development rather than mere equipment sales.

Hazem Zayed highlighted that this alliance supports Cairo 3A’s expansion strategy into advanced agricultural industries. He noted that collaborating with a global entity like Famson opens new avenues for local manufacturing and export competitiveness in African and Arab markets.

Famson aims to utilize Egypt’s strategic location and port infrastructure to export manufactured goods to Africa and the Middle East. The company envisions Egypt becoming a primary industrial and technological base outside China, facilitating broader regional market penetration through localized production capabilities.
