Britains chief Brexit negotiator poured scorn on attempts to hold a “Peoples Vote” on the result of the 2016 EU referendum in a combative speech at the Conservative party conference in Birmingham.

Striking an uncompromising tone, Raab accused “pathetic” Remain supporters of betraying the principles of democracy by trying to derail Brexit with a second vote.

The Tory cabinet minister received a rapturous applause for attacking elitist Remainers for “bankrolling a campaign" to "scare the wits" out of British people.

“Ill tell you whats not democracy,” Raab, who has been negotiating a deal with the EU in Brussels, said.

"If the only offer from the EU threatens the integrity of our Union then we will be left with no choice but to leave with no deal," Raab said.

"What is unthinkable is that this government, or any British government, could be bullied by the threat of some kind of economic embargo, into signing a one-sided deal against our country's interests.”

His comments were in reference to European Council president Donald Tusk bluntly rejecting Theresa May's proposal at last month's Salzburg summit.

The come after the PM told the BBCs Andrew Marr Show that she would make a success of Brexit “regardless of the outcome” while repeatedly failing to rule out a no-deal.

Responding to Boris Johnsons claims she doesn't believe in Brexit, she retorted: "I do believe in Brexit. Crucially, I believe in delivering Brexit in a way that respects the vote and delivers on the vote of the British people while also protecting our union, protecting jobs and ensuring we make a success of Brexit for the future.

"That's why I want us to get a really good free trade deal with the European Union, which is what lies at the heart of the Chequers plan."
